We are pleased to announce another exceptional set of results for Merwida Wines at the 2026 Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards, with our wines bringing home an impressive 10 medals, including two Double Golds, five Golds and three Silvers.
Celebrating its 30th edition in 2026, the Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards has grown to become one of Africa’s most respected wine and spirits competitions. Wines are evaluated blind by panels of experienced wine professionals and scored according to the internationally recognised 100-point judging system, ensuring a rigorous and impartial assessment of every entry.
The competition has also traditionally drawn judges from around the world, bringing an international perspective to the evaluation of South African wines.
This year, we are especially proud to see wines from across the Merwida portfolio recognised – from our fresh 2026 white wines to our red wines, Family Vintners range and Cap Classique.
