Now in its 19th year, this prestigious competition shines a spotlight on the very best expressions of South Africa’s most-loved cultivar. As Sauvignon Blanc SA Chairperson Elunda Basson shared:
“This year’s 19th FNB Sauvignon Blanc SA Top 10 is a mirror of the excellence that defines our cultivar. These wines reflect our winemakers’ craftsmanship in shaping texture, layers and ageing potential from this noble grape. We proudly showcase both younger and older vintages and an exciting diversity of styles from cool and warm regions alike.”
The 2025 competition has been a milestone year for the cultivar — from a standout presence at CapeWine 2025 to the launch of The Story of South African Sauvignon Blanc, the first-ever definitive book on this variety, and the debut of the official Sauvignon Blanc aroma wheel.
For Merwida, this Top 10 recognition is an incredible honour — and a proud reflection of the dedication and passion behind every bottle of our Sauvignon Blanc.
