The 16 year old vines grow in Glenrosa and Sandstone soil. It was harvested at the end of February. The Pinotage grapes were soaked for six hours to perfect the colour and flavour spectrum. The juice is then bleeded off the skins and cold fermented for three weeks at 12°C.
Merwida Pinotage Rosé is an enjoyable and well-designed wine with fresh bouquet of strawberries and candy floss.
Before serving Merwida Pinotage Rosé, ensure it is chilled between 7 – 13°C. This wine goes exceptionally well with light salads, light pasta and rice dishes. It compliments seafood whether it is raw or lightly cooked.
Rosé was the first wine created, about 7000 BC. Red and white wines came a few thousand years later.
